2-ply cash register paper is a special type of rolls that have 2 variations, depending on paper specification.
The main feature of 2-ply paper is making 2 copies at the same time. One of them is intended for a client, second – so called check layer, which stays in cash register and used for accounting or can be used as a duplicate of the original.
There are 2 types of 2-ply cash register rolls: +SC and SC+SC
The +SC is made of two different kinds of paper – offset paper and self-copying paper. It can be used in dot-matrix printers.
The SC+SC is only made of self-copying paper. The advantage of such cash register tape over +SC is that there is no need of cartridges and wasting time changing them. Also, the only consumable is cash register tape. SC+SC is used in impact printers.
The name of thermal cash register roll depends on its dimensions.
